Academy of International Business - U.S. Southwest Chapter

Academy of International Business U.S. Southwest Chapter was established in 1989 and held its
first meeting in 1990. The Chapter holds its annual conference in conjunction with the
Southwestern Federation of Administrative Disciplines (SWFAD) Meeting which is a collection of
13 business conferences and is attended by about 1400 participants. AIB Southwest Conference
incorporates a variety of activities including competitive research presentations, research-in-
progress papers, and special panel sessions. Each year, the Chapter presents an “International
Businessperson of the Year” award to an outstanding executive from the Southwest region. If

Academy of International Business (AIB)

Academy of International Business was established in 1959. Today, the AIB has over 3000
members located in 65 countries around the world. Members include scholars from the
leading academic institutions as well as scholars from schools that are beginning to build their
international business programs. Members from developing countries, newly industrialized
countries, as well as industrialized countries participate equally in the organization’s
activities. AIB has six regional chapters in North America and seven other chapters in various
parts of the world. AIB also publishes the Journal of International Business Studies

2002 ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS
U.S. SOUTHWEST CHAPTER CONFERENCE

The Annual meeting of the 2002 AIB U.S. Southwest Chapter Conference will be held in conjunction with the 2002 Federation of Business Disciplines Meeting (formerly Southwestern Federation of Administrative Disciplines-SWFAD) Conference,
St. Louis, Missouri  (Adam's Mark Hotel) March 6-9, 2002. Competitive papers, work-in-progress, symposia and workshops are invited from all field of International Business and its related areas. Submission Guidelines are follows:

     1.   Authors may submit (a) full-length papers, (b) research-in-progress papers, or (c)
     proposals for special panels. All full-length papers and research-in-progress papers will be
     double-blind reviewed.

     2.   Full-length papers should not exceed 30 double-spaced pages.

     3.   Research-in-progress papers should not exceed 10-double-spaced pages.

     4.   Proposals for special panels should not exceed 4 double-spaced pages. The proposals
     should include the purpose of the panel, the names and affiliations of participants, a
     summary of contributions, and the justification for the proposal.

     5.   All submissions must adhere to The Journal of International Business Studies style
     guidelines.

     6.   Submit 4 copies of the paper and proposal to the Program Chair. Three awards will be
     presented for the best papers at the conference.

     7.   Individuals wishing to serve as session chairs, discussants, and reviewers should contact
     the Program Chair.

     8.   Submission deadline: October 15, 2001.
