Syed Tariq Anwar is Professor of Marketing and International Business in the College of Business, West Texas A&M University. Anwar teaches international marketing, seminar in international business strategy, international business, marketing strategy, seminar in marketing, and principles of marketing. Anwar's research interests are in the areas of international marketing, international business strategy issues, multinational corporations, globalization, global branding issues, e-commerce-related industries, auto industry, pharmaceutical/biotech industries, and case writing. Anwar's research has appeared in journals/periodicals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Marketing, Journal of World Trade, Journal of International Management, World Competition, Thunderbird International Business Review, Journal of Business & Industrial Marketing, International Executive, Marketing News, Contemporary Review, International Third Word Studies Journal & Review, and others.

Anwar has presented over 70 papers and executive seminars at various academic institutions and international conferences in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Austria, Australia, Sweden, England, Italy, Puerto Rico, Taiwan, and Pakistan.. Since 1987, Anwar has delivered seminars and lectures in the U.S. and overseas and has won 19 competitive grants and faculty scholarships awards. In 1993, he won the ‘Best Researcher of the Year' award from West Texas A&M University. In 1998, he won the same award from WTAMU. Anwar serves on the editorial board of several academic journals. In 1994, on a faculty scholarship, he visited Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Honolulu to study local businesses and academic institutions. In June 1997, Anwar taught in the executive MBA program of West Texas A&M University in Taipei, Taiwan. Anwar also serves on various state committees and academic boards.

Prior to his graduate studies, Anwar held various marketing positions in a variety of companies in Pakistan. In addition, Anwar has consulted with businesses, industrial groups, and non-profit organizations in the U.S. and overseas.
