Office of General Majors

Welcome to the Office of General Majors website! Students in our department are working toward a Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree or a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) degree so they can obtain a career in their desired field.

You will find BGS/BAAS students listed on the President’s and Dean’s Lists for outstanding course work. Our diverse student population is also represented in many campus organizations.

Students are required to complete a minimum of 120 semester credit hours. This includes the WTAMU core curriculum, 36 hours of advanced work (courses at the 3000-4000 level), at least 32 hours in residence at WTAMU, including at least 24 or the final 30 hours counted toward your degree, and fulfillment of other University requirements. You will find our students literally all over campus because the elective opportunities allow students to explore all areas of interest. Students are required to focus at least 18 hours in one academic discipline of their choice. Achievement of at least a “C” (2.0) average is required.

Our goal is to help you reach your educational goal!  I’d love to hear from you.
