Nashville’s Lionel Cartwright to Perform at WTAMU’s One Sessions

CANYON, Texas—One Sessions, the award-winning event hosted each semester by West Texas A&M University’s Department of Communication, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5 in the AT&T High Definition Studio located inside thLionel Cartwrighte Sybil B. Harrington Fine Arts Complex. The evening show is organized and produced by the Advanced Video class under the direction of Randy Ray, associate lecturer.

Instead of featuring a local artist, the class will host Nashville native Lionel Cartwright, a 90s country-chart topper. Cartwright will perform an hour-long acoustic musical performance, which will then be edited by the students in the Advanced Video class into a 22-minute cut. Cartwright was chosen for One Sessions based on his performance history by Dr. Emily Kinsky, associate professor of mass communication and National Broadcast Society adviser, and Randy Ray.

Cartwright’s knowledge in the music industry includes producing, performance, recording, writing and composition.

Cartwright also will serve as the keynote speaker at the National Broadcast Society Regional conference Oct. 6-7 at WTAMU. For more information about Cartwright’s performance, contact Ray at rray@wtamu.edu or 806-651-2807.
