WTAMU Graduate Class to Make Video in Israel for Non-Profit Organization

CANYON, Texas—Students in a “Trends in Graduate Communication” class at West Texas A&M University have spent the semester assisting the non-profit Texans for Israel in social media, podcasts, event planning and marketing of the organization, and they will soon add a video to the mix with a trip to Israel.

Randy Ray, associate lecturer and director of broadcast engineering, and his students will travel to Israel Nov. 18-29 with Texans for Israel to create a travel journal video for the non-profit. The trip will include visits to the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, the Garden of Gethsemane, Judean Desert, a beach day on the Mediterranean in Tel Aviv and more.

“We are very excited to give WT graduate students a chance to work hand in hand with Texans for Israel,” Ray said. “Service learning projects like this are a big win for our students and for our community.”

Following the trip, the class will present the video at Bar Z Winery at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13. The screening is open to the public.
