West Texas A&M University invites all spooks and goblins to its annual Fall Community Carnival from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at the Virgil Henson Activities Center All-Purpose Room. The carnival is geared toward children 12 and under, and booths sponsored by various campus organizations will provide fun, games and prizes. It is free and open to the public. For more information, call 806-651-2391. Priority registration. Priority registration for currently enrolled students begins Sunday, Nov. 1 at West Texas A&M University. The early registration period offers students a chance to schedule classes for winter intersession and the 2010 spring semester. The Nov. 1 priority registration is for graduate students and seniors, and juniors can begin the process on Thursday, Nov. 5. Sophomores can begin priority registration on Nov. 11 and freshmen on Nov. 16. Priority registration is open for all current and new students beginning Nov. 23. West Texas A&M University will get a jump start on the holiday season Friday, Nov. 6 with the Hanging of the Lights from 3-5 p.m. at the Jack B. Kelley Student Center. Miles of Christmas lights will be strung on buildings, trees and shrubs around Old Main and the Pedestrian Mall in preparation for the 19th annual Carol of Lights at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19 at the Pedestrian Mall. West Texas A&M University will conduct its annual canned food drive with a “Drive-By Fooding” from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7 in the parking lot of Canyon’s United Supermarket.
