WTAMU Organization Sponsoring 'Buffalo Big Give'

CANYON, Texas—Students Assisting “N” Good Endeavors (S.A.G.E.) at West Texas A&M University is recognizing the national “Make A Difference Day” with a special event on Saturday, Oct. 24.

“Buffalo Big Give” is designed to encourage campus groups at WTAMU to take part in a day of service. Participating groups are limited to $100 when carrying out a “Buffalo Big Give” service project. The group with the most creative service event and biggest give will receive a $500 prize. The award will be presented at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 in the Alumni Banquet Hall on campus.

“Make a Difference Day” was created by USA Weekend magazine as a national day of helping others. The event takes place on the fourth Saturday of October every year, and students in S.A.G.E. are encouraging other campus groups to participate in serving the community that day. Donations from various businesses and individuals are helping sponsor the event.

S.A.G.E. is a community service organization at WTAMU. The group benefits the University and the community through various community service projects throughout the year. For more information about “Buffalo Big Give,” call Brittni Henderson, event co-chair, at 214-500-7959.
