Significant Projects:

Performed research at company tree nurseries in Washington, Oregon and
South Carolina. Evaluated erosion, sediment transport, and nutrient runoff.
Installed automated streamflow stage monitoring and sampling devices, and
designed retention ponds and pumps/piping to control surface runoff.

Performed characterization and remediation at several hazardous waste sites,
including sites contaminated with mercury, PCB's, petroleum products, pentachlorophenol,
and degreasing solvents.

Performed land application studies for application of fly ash, municipal
sludge, and paper mill sludge to forest land. Installed groundwater monitoring
wells to trace movement of nutrients.

Monitored ground water and surface water quality at the company's landfills,
sludge lagoons and treatment ponds. Sampled more than 30 monitoring wells
quarterly, and prepared annual reports for state regulatory agencies.

Performed a hydrogeologic investigation at an underground ink waste discharge
site. Installed monitoring wells, estimated groundwater and contaminant
transport flow rates, sampled soil and groundwater, performed extensive
statistical analyses, and determined cleanup requirements.

On larger projects, hired and oversaw work performed by outside environmental
consultants.
