Professional Licensure and Certification Programs

Professional Licensure and Certification Programs

By law, West Texas A&M University is required to notify current and potential students about the University’s ability to meet licensure requirements in a state. Students planning to gain a degree or changing their major to one that may lead to a professional licensure or certification, we encourage students to reach out to the state and licensing agency in which the license will be held to ensure acceptance from our programs. West Texas A&M University programs are designed to prepare students for licensure in the state of Texas only and shall not be held liable if a student is unable to qualify for licensure or certification in their chosen state or territory.

The following programs may lead to a professional license or certification that is required for employment. Professional licensure/certification requirements vary from state to state, which may affect a student’s ability to apply for a professional license/certification upon the completion of the program.  The U.S. Department of Education regulation 34 CFR 668.43 (a) (5) (v), requires an institution to disclose whether the program will fulfill educational requirements for licensure or certification for each state.
